Gently rolling hills, sleepy lakes and vast fields, from which the early morning mists rise in spring and autumn – the Schloss Beberbeck Resort is tucked away in the middle of a picturesque landscape. Yet the surrounding forests are what mainly make the area so unique. Huge, gnarled trees, tall ferns and oak-lined avenues await hikers here. For ages, packs of wolves roamed the terrain at night and lynx made their home in the thick woods. This is Germany as it was a hundred years ago. And in the bordering primeval forest Sababurg and the historic animal park, it’s still like this today.
